›Peruvian Portraits‹
Javier Silva Meinel travels all over Peru, frequently in the Andean region, to photograph the indigenous people with their mysterious props at annual civic celebrations and religious festivals. Using a makeshift (and portable) studio and cloth backdrops, Meinel photographs his sitters in theatrical and symbolic ways to produce extraordinary results.
